Model Highlights

The 2011 Suzuki SX4 is offered as either a 5-door hatchback or 4-door sedan. Sedans are available in Base and LE trim, with Sport Sedans available in S, SE and GTS trim. Hatchbacks are offered in Base, Technology and Premium trim levels. All-wheel drive is available, but only in the 5-door hatchback. The basic sedan starts at a low $12,958, the hatch starts at $15,838 and all-wheel drive models begin at $16,318. Two transmissions are available on all SX4s-- a close-ratio 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic, which comes standard with paddle shifters and a "sport" mode. All models are powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, which has been tuned to produce 150 horsepower (148 when equipped with the CVT) and 140 foot-pounds of torque. The EPA estimates the front-wheel drive Sport Sedan is capable of 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway when equipped with the CVT. The all-wheel drive hatches are rated at 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. The base Suzuki SX4 sedan starts remarkably inexpensively at just under $13,000. It comes simply equipped, but with the same 150 hp 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that's standard across the lineup. But, even at this price, it includes power windows and locks, anti-lock brakes and front, side and curtain airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system. An LE Anniversary Edition replaces last year's LE Popular trim. It includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and remote keyless entry. The Sport sedan adds a sport-tuned suspension, a body kit, a subscription to Suzuki's "NuLink" system which provides in-car information and data such as fuel prices, weather forecasts and traffic. The Sport sedan SE adds a navigation system, and the GTS, at $18,899 adds a spoiler, a premium 8-speaker stereo, "SmartPass" keyless entry, climate control and an electronic stability control system. The SX4 Sportback, introduced in 2010, brings additional versatility to the lineup. The base Sportback features a sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear wiper, a CD/MP3 stereo, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows and locks, remote keyless entry and air conditioning. It comes with either a 6-speed manual or CVT transmission. The all-wheel drive version of the Sportback, which Suzuki calls the SX4 Crossover, maintains the high-value content of the Sportback, but adds a 3-mode all-wheel drive system, heated mirrors and a special body kit. The Technology trim adds such high-end features as heated front seats and a navigation system and a 1-year subscription to Suzuki's "NuLink" system.
